Going Organic

Fiber artist Kim Keats and fine-art photographer Gary Geboy collaborate on a groundbreaking show at USCB. The press release describes Organics: The Art of Nature as “both collaboration and continuum – on one end Kim constructing works of art from natural elements and on the other end Gary deconstructing nature into elemental shapes, tone and texture.” The show opens January 12th and runs through much of February. Although the two artists work in entirely different mediums, they share a similar vision and a common fascination with the smallest aspects of the natural world. One is a scavenger, the other a salvager. Both offer up a unique vision of intimate detail. Mark Shaffer sat down to talk with them…
