Books Sandwiched In

    It’s a new time and a new place but The Friends of the Beaufort County Library kick off their  22th annual Books Sandwiched In program on Monday, Jan. 7, 2008 with the same stimulating entertainment, coffee and cookies.    For eight weeks, through Feb. 25, book lovers are invited to gather at 1 p.m. on Mondays in the Sea Island Presbyterian Church on Lady’s Island for an opportunity to listen to  reviews of eight best sellers or books of local interest.

Photos in Pluff Mud

Well known local landscape/wildlife photographer, Ed Funk, will be joining Pluff Mudd Art (757-5590) at 27 Calhoun Street in Bluffton beginning January 1, 2008.  Ed will be joining an already existing cadre of 15 artists, specializing in two dimensional oil, acrylic and watercolor painting as well as three dimensional pottery, wood carving and jewelry.

Beaufort Orchestra: From Sacred to Swing

The Beaufort Orchestra announces its annual musical holiday celebration concerts on Thursday, December 6th at 8:00 P.M. and a Sunday Matinee, December 9th at 3:00 P.M. at the USCB Performing Arts Auditorium in Beaufort. Mary Kelly, Goddess of Embroidery

On Saturday, December 8, local author and artist Mary B. Kelly will sign copies of her new book, Goddess Embroideries of the Northlands, and will demonstrate painting techniques related to the current Kelly-Kerr exhibit, “Red, White and Bleu…Paintings with a French Flair” at the Hilton Head Public Library.  The event will be held at the library’s Corridor Gallery from 2 – 4 p.m.
