Tobin Bridge Blues

We all have bad days, some far worse than others. Last month I caught myself on fire while lighting a scented candle at home. The cute little flame jumped its glass container and scampered up my shirt. In seconds a comfortable polyester piece with no ironing requirements turned into a torch.

Photography Club of Beaufort Print Awards

Someone once said, “It’s not really a photograph until the photograph is printed.”   To members of the Photography Club of Beaufort, a print is the completion of the photograph. Dance of the Glampires at NeverMore Books

The first vampire crawled out of his grave in 1725, a disgusting, noseless, reanimated corpse. Today, our vampires look super-sexy and sparkle. How did we get from vampires to glampires? In this one-hour performance, Grady Hendrix, award-winning author of the new novel, The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires, delivers a breakneck history of vampires using a barrage of flashy illustrations and, quite possibly, interpretive dance. Hendrix has performed his book-based shows all over the world, from London to Los Angeles, and Dance of the Glampires is guaranteed to be the most (legal) fun you’ve ever had in a bookstore.
