The Technical College of the Lowcountry presents opportunities for people to learn something new, prepare for the future, or improve their quality of life.


A fascinating series of seminars will be offered this fall at TCL’s New River campus.

         First up, TCL welcomes Debbi Harper from California. Ms. Harper will be presenting a seminar on September 25 from 6:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m. –  Your Brain Matters.  She will focus on keeping the brain healthy for years to come by learning the 5 most dangerous threats to your brain’s health. Discover how to create healthier brain cells and even be less forgetful. Learn exercises that are considered "smart moves" to boost your mental focus. The cost of the course is $55, and an additional fee paid to the instructor for materials the night of class. Ms. Harper is Founder and Director of “Healthy Workout” offering programs since 1986 in health education, aerobic exercise, chair exercise, aqua exercise, dance, and chair volleyball. She has had over twelve books published on well-being.

         Bob Gardner of Hilton Head Island will present a seminar on Retirement Planning Today on October 3 and October 10 from 9:00 a.m. til noon. As a financial investment guru, Mr. Gardner has presented this successful course for the last two consecutive years at TCL. This seminar‘s objective is to emphasis the need for preparing for tomorrow, today. This seminar will enable students to determine the amount of money needed to retire, learn to eliminate debt and increase cash flow so they can live their dream-life. The cost is $59.

          LeeAnne Krusemark is a journalist, author, and owner of an award winning southern California public relations business since 1988. Her in-person lectures are offered at more than 200 facilities nationwide, including Purdue, and her online publishing class is offered at more than 1,000 facilities worldwide, including Harvard Adult Education. Ms. Krusemark presents a day filled with seminars to unlock your financial handcuffs, strive past rejection to finally be published, successfully be your own boss, and more. Seminars will be held on October 7, throughout the day starting at 1:00 p.m. Cost of classes vary. Check out the TCL website for details:

          {mosimage}Chelsea Langan will present a seminar on Vibrant Living from Self-Improvement on October 17 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Ms. Langan is a graduate from the College of Charleston and has been published in several Charleston Newspapers. She is also a PSYCH-K facilitator and has studied extensively in the works of Bruce Lipton and Eckhart Tolle. Students will learn first-hand how to understand how one’s self-awareness can lead a person on a healthy journey of peace. This seminar reflects on two novels written by Eckhart Tolle, “The Power of Now” and “A New Earth.” Students will learn scientifically-supported, ground-breaking life improvement techniques to harness universal intelligence. Cost of course is $75.
