In honor of Beaufort’s Tricentennial, the Parish Church of St. Helena will host a Lecture Series on three Fridays in January, featuring noted historians Lawrence Rowland, John McCardell, and Stephen Wise. The series, entitled “Beaufort – A Look Back” will explore the following topics:

lectures-stephen-wiseDr. Lawrence Rowland is the Distinguised Professor Emeritus in History at USCB. Dr. John M. McCardell, Jr. is Vice-Chancellor and President of The University of the South – Sewanee. Dr. Stephen R. Wise is Museum Director and Cultural Resource Manager at Parris Island.

 

All lectures will be held at the church, 505 Church Street in downtown Beaufort. Pat Gould, Director of Music, will play an organ prelude at 6:45 pm, and the lectures will begin at 7 pm.
