This September, Art League Gallery will host Island Treasures, an exhibit of original paintings by Hilton Head native Addison Palmer. Palmer’s award-winning work focuses mainly on landscapes and animals—both wild and domestic—and largely features the beauty of the Lowcountry. His style ranges from clean-lined depictions in bold colors to serene landscapes and skyscapes using a minimal color palette.

USCB Center for the Arts kicks off new seasonBy Mindy Lucas It’s a warm, muggy August evening on the University of South Carolina Beaufort campus. Inside the university’s Center for the Arts though, where rehearsals for Spamalot are taking place, it is cool and comfortable – a welcome relief from the summer heat. For the second straight year, the Barbers of the Lowcountry’s Clipper Cup charity golf tournament exceeded its donation goal for Bluffton Self Help. The second annual tournament raised $3,000 for the Bluffton non-profit this year, an amount that is $500 more than tournament organizers had targeted. This year’s donation follows similar success from the inaugural event, which contributed $2,000 to Bluffton Self Help in 2018.
