‘Landscape with a Limited Palette’ Workshop

Students of all levels create 3 landscapes in 3 days. Landscape artist and guest instructor TJ Cunningham will be teaching “Landscape with a Limited Palette” for three days, February 17-19, at Art League of Hilton Head. Instruction will center on creating compelling landscapes with just the three primary colors (red, yellow and blue) plus white. “With fewer color choices comes greater creativity, allowing the student to focus more on composition and abstraction,” says Cunningham. “The limitation is also a great framework for learning how to mix color.”

Cummings Bears Witness at Sea Islands Center Gallery

The Department of Visual Art & Design at USCB presents Bearing Witness, artwork by Yvette Cummings, at the Sea Islands Center Gallery. The show opened in late January, and a reception will take place Friday, February 7, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., with a brief gallery talk at 6 p.m. The exhibit will remain on view through February 22. The Sea Islands Center Gallery is located at 1106 Carteret Street.
