USC B Center for the Arts and Emerging Pictures partner to bring independent and foreign films, docume ntaries and ballets to Beaufort community
The University of South Carolina Beaufort Center for the Arts (CFA) is proud to be joining the Emerging Pictures network of cinemas to bring a whole new variety of year ‘round entertainment to the Beaufort community.
This partnership offers a rare opportunity for our audiences to enjoy pristine presentations of first run independent and foreign films and documentaries, as well as a selection of specialized content events – such as the Bolshoi Ballet – all in crystal-clear High Definition.
The first film offered through this new Emerging Pictures partnership on Oct. 17, will be a SeaWorld documentary, “TURTLE: The Incredible Journey” – the life odyssey of a female Loggerhead turtle. This is a subject near and dear to a great number of Beaufort area residents who volunteer countless hours to area sea turtle rescue organizations, and to those who support them and the programs with their donations. It is a “must see” for all those who want to experience the result of their hard work and dedication.
This offering is followed on Oct. 24, by the recent arthouse hit by Woody Allen, “Midnight in Paris.” Other films scheduled through December include: “Brighton Rock” Nov. 4; “The Guard” Nov. 18; “Toast” Nov. 22; “The Tree” Dec. 1; “I Am” Dec. 8; and “The Names of Love” Dec. 12. All films are shown at 7:00 p.m.
All film ticket prices are: Adults $8; Seniors and Military $7; and Students $6. Please call the box office at 843-521-4145 to purchase or stop by Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tickets will also be available at the door.
USCB/CFA will also feature two ballets from the famed Bolshoi Ballet, “Swan Lake” on Oct. 30, at 3:00 p.m., and “Coppelia” on Dec. 19, at 7:00 p.m.
