Something funky like a painting of an alligator with a Santa hat . . . or just beautiful Beaufort inspired Christmas cards?

Now through December 31, a portion of BAA’s Gallery will be transformed into a winter wonderland full of fine art and crafts especially created for this event.

“If you truly want art from the heart, this is a great opportunity to buy original art for a reasonable price,” says Jerry Stocks, Holiday Art Merket Chair. “All items are entirely the creative work of the artists, and many of them are crafted exclusively for this event.”

This year’s Holiday Art Market offerings include:

  • hand-painted gift bags
  • woven pine ornaments
  • miniature scenes of the Lowcountry
  • carved wood “comfort birds”
  • oyster shell angels, and
  • original holiday cards

The Christmas tree will be filled with hand-painted ornaments and whimsical clay Santas. Although many items are holiday-inspired, not all new art will be seasonal. There are small paintings, encaustics, silk scarves, wood bowls, porcelain pottery and other holiday gift items. Pieces start at $10, and small paintings are available for under $40.

The main gallery will also be exhibiting the work of over 65 local member artists in the Annual All Members Show featuring 122 works of art, as well as a large selection of hand-made jewelry.
