What do you like about the South? For artist, Margaret Crawford, she can remember the salty air and peacefulness since the late 70’s. Before becoming a Lowcountry resident, Crawford studied at the Pittsburgh Art Institute, Carnegie Mellon University and The Art Students League in New York City. With over twenty solo exhibits on her resume, you do not want to miss this exhibit and its ode to the South.
‘Simply Southern’ promises to highlight the uniqueness of the Lowcountry and our island. Where else in the world can you see marshes, beaches, oysters, historical sites, majestic live oaks all on one 42 square mile island? Crawford’s exhibit will show a variety of media. “Flowers work best for me in watercolor. My ‘big sky’ paintings are best in acrylic. Also, included in this show will be some food paintings that will be a bit quirky and fun,” states Margaret.
