Attention sports fans, history buffs, culture vultures, and collectors of all stripes! The 5th annual LowCountry Habitat for Humanity Birdhouse Auction is bringing something new to the table this year: Celebrity Birdhouses.

Five huge names on the national (and international) scene have graciously donated their designs and signatures to Habitat to help ensure that this year’s auction is the best one yet! If you think we’re exaggerating when we say HUGE, just take a look at this list: baseball legend Hank Aaron, veteran news hero Walter Cronkite, famed Apollo 13 astronaut Jim Lovell, and best-selling authors Pat Conroy and Cassandra King.
    The celebrities came up with their own detailed birdhouse designs, which were then implemented by local woodworkers and artists. The houses are currently all over the country being signed by their famous designers.{mosimage}
    On Friday, April 25th, you’ll have a chance to marvel at these marvels, and maybe even take one home! The fun begins at 6 pm at St. Peter’s reception hall. Enjoy wine & hors d’oeuvres, mingle with friends, move to the groove of the Vic Varner trio, and discover that special birdhouse that somebody created just for you. Habitat for Humanity gives so much to our community! This is the community’s night to give back.
