The Open Land Trust serves up a boot stompin’ good time.

Hey y’all, have you heard the big news? The Beaufort County Open Land Trust will be hosting a traditional barn dance and dinner on March 22, 2013! This boot stompin’ event will take place at their Widgeon Point Barn located on Lemon Island starting at 6pm.

The Salt Creek Stompers Band will be performing and professional caller (Tommy Bledsoe) will be on hand “calling” easy dances so that everyone can join in! Y’all better come hungry for Jimmy Fitts from Walterboro, SC will be serving up a delicious country supper.

And for a little something extra, the Land Trust will be auctioning off an early Bill Mead folk art painting which originally hung in the Saint Helena Market! For those of you who don’t know, Mead began painting his landscape vegetables to draw attention to a friend’s roadside farm stand. The watermelons didn’t sell, but the paintings did. His attention to detail of the Low Country paired with ridiculously large fruit and vegetables have tickled collectors for years!

Tickets to this event are $50 for current OLT members and $75 for non-members. They are available via their website [www.openlandtrust.com] or by calling their office at 843-521-2175. (Please give those good folks a call if you are unsure about your current membership status.)
Good times are guaranteed!
