pillows Courtney Pulaski and Drake WoodsIn an effort to acknowledge 2020 Beaufort County and Jasper County high school graduates who have worked so hard this year during the pandemic, FWDG is offering one free pillow (a $99 value) to each high school grad who visits the furniture store and brings in their diploma. The student must be present to receive the pillow. Pillows are available for pickup 7 days a week at FWDG: 745 Robert Smalls Pkwy in Beaufort, one mile East of the Broad River Bridge. Store hours are Mon-Sat, 10am-6pm and Sun 1-5pm.

“My wife Robyn and I have a great-niece that graduated this year from high school. Her graduation has been turned upside down because of the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Larry Mark, Owner and Founder of FWDG. “That caused us to start thinking about our customers’ children who might be graduating this year and how they might feel let down. We asked ourselves what we could do for those graduates that would be meaningful and help lift their spirits just a little.”

“Many ideas we discussed were already being addressed or were not practical. Then it occurred to us: all young people can use a quality bed pillow. I would venture to guess that most young people are sleeping on hand-me-down pillows that do nothing to assist in proper spinal alignment. For those students that feel comfortable, we are sharing their pictures with their pillows and diplomas on our social media pages. We’ve received positive feedback about this free offer and look forward to handing out all of the pillows we purchased.”

Founded in 1972 by Larry Mark and his father Ernest, FWDG sells fine quality furniture, area rugs, and mattresses throughout Beaufort County and beyond. The company remains family-owned and independently operated. FWDG is a member of the Furniture First cooperative. www.FWDGonline.com.
