Preventing Plateaus

A question that comes up often in my field is how to prevent a training plateau. People often get off to a great start on an exercise routine, notice results for a period of time, and then see the results come to a dramatic halt. They feel like they are on the right track and then all of a sudden the number on the scale stays the same, the fat around the mid section, hip and arms remains or looks thicker, motivation begins to decline and the “what am I doing wrong? I did everything I thought I was suppose to do” feeling begins to creep in. This can then lead to the worst possible question, which is “what’s the point?”

Kill The Pills, Medicate with Exercise

The subject I’m going to discuss, I could go on for days and days about. It’s something that is near and dear to my heart because I have been directly affected by it, and so have over 50% of Americans. This issue has caused hospitalizations, permanent health issues, even death, to hundreds of thousands of people, and the numbers keep growing. Every day there are advertisements on TV for these things that have become the topic of humor, for some – because the consequences of introducing these products to your body can be so devastating, it’s a wonder people would take them at all. If you haven’t figured it out already, I am talking about prescription medication.

Fire, Aim, Ready?

The New Year usually comes with many high expectations of resolutions and goals to be met. As I stated in our most recent article, for almost everyone, those resolutions are really just lists of procrastinations. Unfortunately, many of these promises are never met, and the reasons are that behavior patterns are not modified and preparation for success is minimal. If you think about it, almost every single goal is really just a linear process. If you do X you will get Y. By eliminating all the distractions and focusing on what you want to achieve with every fiber of your being, you will get to where you want to be. It could take a month or a year, but you will get there no matter how big the goal is.

Seven Things That Make You Weaker/Stronger

A lot of people pray for an easier life: to hit the lotto, to lose weight while they’re sleeping, or the magic bullet for health and energy. Rarely do you hear people asking for the challenge of becoming a stronger person. But in becoming a stronger person, life naturally becomes easier. Everything in life is perception, and for a strong person, certain problems or goals seem negligible, while the same problem or goal to a weaker person seems insurmountable.

The Invisible Poison

You may be carrying something internally that is draining you of vital energy. It could be sucking the life out of you everyday, yet you are completely unaware. It is something that affects your health more than you could ever imagine, but is almost never addressed by health professionals. It is a poison that can compromise your immune system, put stress on your heart, cause depression, lead to skin irritations, warts and ulcers. It may even be the reason you are not growing emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. Simply put, it is unhealthy all around.

The Right to Bear Fat

The US is the greatest country on the face of the Earth. We really are super lucky to be living here. We enjoy freedoms that many people will never experience in their entire lives, and for that I am grateful. But this freedom, and all the luxuries we have at our fingertips, have caused an adverse reaction: the unintended, yet excessively carried out right to bear fat. What if our right to be fat was taken away? Well, if you live in Japan and you’re fat, then you’re breaking the law. I can only imagine how that would go over in America.

Thoughts are Things

What I am about to tell you might be the single most important thing – not only for getting yourself into the best shape ever, but for life. You see, we are the only beings on earth who can picture in our minds what we want to be, work toward that picture, and bring it into reality. The secret is that your thoughts become things. Have you ever heard the saying, “be careful what you wish for because you just might get it”? Well, a wish is really just a thought. When you make a wish you think about what you want and put energy out into the world. Your thought pattern is actually a frequency just like a satellite dish that sends a signal out to allow you to watch your favorite TV show.
