World Goddesses at Bluffton Branch Library

Life-size oil paintings of “Goddesses in World Cultures” will be featured all summer (June 1 – September 1) at the Bluffton Branch of the Beaufort County Library System, 120 Palmetto Way, Bluffton. The work of artist and author Mary B. Kelly of Hilton Head, will display deities from Europe, Asia and the Americas. These also form the illustrations for Kelly’s book Goddess, Women, Cloth, published in 2012 and available on Amazon and Kindle.

Time & Timelessness

Mary Sullivan is the featured artist at the SOBA Gallery from June 4 through July 14. Her exhibit “Time and Timelessness,” will present all new work, exploring that theme with the poured ink abstracts for which she has become known. She will add two additional techniques which ultimately evolved from the ink paintings.

“Harriet Tubman” Heads to Piccolo, Stops in Beaufort

Natalie’s Daise’s original play, “Becoming Harriet Tubman” has been selected by the Piccolo Spoleto Festival of Charleston to run during the internationally-recognized festival. But first, she is giving one night to her home town, Saturday, May 19 at 7:30pm. Natalie will perform her show at ARTworks, in Beaufort Town Center, where she thrilled audiences with it last year. Advanced Acting Workshops

Actress Simone Griffeth will teach two intensive Advanced Acting Class Workshops for USCB Center for the Arts in April and May. The class will focus on acting techniques using scenes and monologues from plays. Students will learn about creating believable characters, identifying and generating emotions, accessing their own experiences to strengthen characters, improvisation, and developing character stories. Final performance will be taped and actors will have copy formatted for electronic submissions for casting purposes.
