Conroy’s Archive Goes to USC

What do Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Joseph Heller and Beaufort’s own Pat Conroy have in common? They’re all great American writers who have original work preserved at the University of South Carolina. Conroy’s archive, which includes handwritten manuscripts of his 11 books, family scrapbooks and personal diaries packed with story ideas, poems and musings, now belongs to USC.

Excellence in Photography

The Photography Club of Beaufort recently announced the winners of its Spring Competition. Judging the event were award winning photographers Bob Ovelman and Robert Rommell, from Hilton Head, and ARTworks gallery curator, Deanna Bowdish. Prints were judged using the criteria of superb technical quality, composition and interest. During the competition, judges shared their expertise and offered constructive critiques to photos to help the photographers improve their skills.

You may, however, download it on your Kindle for $.99, an investment I highly recommend.
