SCRC continues its 17th season with the gripping thriller, Mauritius. Stamp collecting is far more risky than you think. After their mother's death, two estranged half-sisters discover a book of rare stamps that may include the crown jewel for collectors. One sister tries to profit from this windfall, while the other resists for sentimental reasons. In this enthralling tale, a seemingly simple transaction becomes dangerous when the younger sister’s world is entered by three seedy, high-stakes collectors, willing to do anything to claim the rare find as their own.
Taking helm of his 24th SCRC production is Tom Evans. SCRC has assembled an estimable group of favorites that make up the ensemble of Mauritius. The cast includes Ellie Clark (Rabbit Hole), Matt Bridges (Almost, Maine, Rounding Third), Weldon Durham (Yellow Dog Crossing, Foxfire, among others), SCRC Associate Producer Blake White (Doubt, Rounding Third, among others) and Peggy Trecker (The Last Five Years, Almost, Maine among others).
The Hollywood Reporter calls Mauritius “the sort of well-made, engrossing and unpretentious play rarely encountered these days.” Variety calls it “passionate, mysterious, and even wildly funny.”
