Masters of Motown – August 29 – 30

Motown-MastersOfMotownYou’ll be dancing in the street . . . or at least in the aisles on August 29 and 30 when Masters of Motown commands the Arts Center stage.

In the 60’s, some of the most iconic names in the history of popular music were discovered in the Motor City of Detroit, better known as Motown. Masters of Motown is a celebration of these artists, their dynamic music and their timeless sound. The non-stop show features stylishly costumed, fully choreographed performances of the 10-member cast, including three female vocalists, three male vocalists, guitar, bass, drums and keys, who have come together to reproduce the style, sound and ultimate feel that was quintessentially Motown. Throughout the course of the show, these performers transform into Stevie Wonder, The Four Tops, Diane Ross and the Supremes, The Pointer Sisters, The Jackson Five and so many more.

During this summertime stroll down memory lane, Masters of Motown will perform hits such as “Get Ready” by the Temptations, “Dancing in the Street” by Martha and the Vandellas and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.

This “generationless” show authentically reproduces the look, choreography, style and sound made famous by a record label that was relatively unknown at the time but went on to profoundly influence the history of popular music. The performance goes beyond the music to preserve the integrity of the entire Motown experience. For younger generations, the show offers a way to experience a period in our country’s past that produced many of the greatest music acts ever recorded.

It’s a celebration of one of the greatest times in our musical history. But, don’t wait to hear through the grapevine how incredible this show is, get your tickets today! On stage August 29 and 30, tickets for Masters of Motown are $44 and may be purchased now at 843-842-ARTS or online at www.artshhi.com.
