HHCS-Co-Presidents-Linda-and-Glenn-Neff-with-Toy-Drive-DonationsThe members of the Hilton Head Choral Society gathered the first weekend in November for a retreat. Not only did the group come together to reflect on their 41st season of song, the HHCS also came to the aid of some of the most helpless victims of Hurricane Matthew.

Members brought donations of pet food and supplies for the Hilton Head Humane Society to help restock the organization’s shelves after the hurricane. The HHCS gathered a large collection of items and delivered the goods to the Humane Society after the retreat.

The Hilton Head Choral Society has been giving back to our community for over 40 years. They often sing at special events like community Memorial Day commemorations, this month’s Hilton Head Veteran’s Day observance and at assisted living homes – all to bring the joy of song to others.

The joy of sharing continues at their annual Christmas concert in December, when the Choral Society will once again sponsor a toy drive. Concertgoers are invited to join the chorus members in bringing a new, unwrapped toy which will be distributed by local organizations to children in our community during the Christmas season.

“Giving back to the Lowcountry is important to the members of the Hilton Head Choral Society,” says Glenn Neff, HHCS Co-President. “We enjoy not only being a part of this amazing community but contributing to it as well.”

Their next performance with orchestra (post hurricane) is appropriately called I’ll Be Home for Christmas, on Friday, December 9 at 8 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 540 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island.
