The Mary Green Chorale presents WE the PEOPLE on Sunday, November 15, 2026, 4 pm, at Lowcountry Presbyterian Church, 10 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton. The Chorale, under the direction of Mary Woodmansee Green, will present pieces for mixed, men’s and women’s chorus, solos and ensembles accompanied by pianist and organist Karen Ball and a 15-member brass and percussion ensemble. As always, the Chorale program will include engaging commentary throughout the evening.

The Chorale’s musical tribute to the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the United States opens with a stunning a cappella arrangement of the Star-Spangled Banner followed by William Billings’ patriotic “Chester” sung during the American Revolutionary War. The centerpiece of the program is Randall Thompson’s “A Testament of Freedom” set to texts of Thomas Jefferson, accompanied by organ, brass and percussion.

The stirring “Battle Hymn of the Republic” opens the second half, along with a Civil War Medley and the well-known “Ashokan Farewell.” Lush settings of “America the Beautiful,” the Navy Hymn and “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” take us to John Philip Sousa’s “Stars & Stripes Forever” with audience joining the refrain with the Chorale as a 250th Tribute farewell.
