Originally from Connecticut, Graber met her future husband Scott Graber at George Washington University in Washington, DC; shortly afterwards, they both moved to Beaufort in the early ‘70’s, where Scott opened his law practice. In the early 1990’s, she left her job as a real estate paralegal to devote herself full-time to painting. She took classes at the Gibbes Museum in Charleston and the Savannah College of Art & Design, as well as participating in various local and national workshops.

Graber began painting portraits in the 1990’s. Since then, she has completed over 100 commissions. She works from her studio next to her home in Port Royal, SC and in her loft at the Eclipse Mill in North Adams, MA. For more information, go to her website at
