The Lowcountry Diversity Coalition’s 2022 Weekend – consisting of two concerts and a Symposium – will take place on Hilton Head Island at Christ Lutheran Church April 29 – May 1. The weekend programming explores strategies for developing and fostering diversity, equity and inclusion in Beaufort County.

“The value of this weekend and our entire 2022 program cannot be overstated,” said Terry Herron, Lowcountry Diversity member. “Our goal is to make it clear that our town, businesses large and small, and community organizations need to take an active role in creating and developing a more inclusive and diverse township, and we are excited for the role we have to lead a culture of positive change.”

The 2022 symposium will feature “Courageous Conversations: Transforming Our Community” with keynote speaker U.S. Congressman James Clyburn. It is a forum for community leaders to engage with one another and work towards actions that will create a more inclusive community. Eric Esquivel, Publisher of La Isla Magazine, who is widely recognized for supporting and serving the Latino Community in the Lowcountry for over 20 years, will also be speaking.

“This event provides leaders and community members a safe atmosphere to have honest and transparent conversations about various dimensions of diversity,” said Terry Herron.  “Each year we work to cultivate an experience
