Kem Welch
Kemagic Publishing Group is excited to invite you to the Family Reading Circle and book signing at the Beaufort Bookstore on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. Local author, Kem Welch, and his wife, Barbara, will read selected stories for the kids from his newest books, and free coloring pages and character buttons will be given out. The author will happily personalize any books purchased during the event.
Everyone is invited to explore the world of Horatio, the curious cat who not only learns to read, but also decides his destiny is to become a writer. Also, the kids will discover Kobbly, the little tyke who draws on his bedroom walls – until his mother finds out! What happens next changes Kobbly’s life forever… but what could it be? Join us in celebrating the adventures of these exciting children’s books and the emerging world of Kem Welch’s imagination!
About the Author:
Kem Welch is a Southern boy, raised in the Charleston area. His mother gave warm love and support to his
budding talent, and his father was a natural, captivating storyteller. Summers spent on his aunt and uncle’s farm influenced his love of nature and the value of quiet introspection when being creative.
Writing and music have been passions since his youth, and he has performed in bands, as well as written and produced musical plays for the enjoyment of appreciative crowds. His background in television, commercial art, and video production helped him learn the art of succinct, entertaining storytelling, which became invaluable when he began his journey on the Chronicles of Horatio the Cat series and each of his following books.
The Beaufort Bookstore is located at 2127 Boundary Street in Beaufort.
