The Quilters of South Carolina exhibit ‘Artfull Bras’ to raise breast cancer awareness.
Members of the Quilters of South Carolina, a statewide quilt guild, have created one-of-a-kind bras for Breast Cancer Awareness. The exhibit consists of forty-nine works of art that are unique, entertaining, humorous and beautiful, to make the public aware of breast cancer, to memorialize those lost to the disease, and to honor the survivors. The “Artfull Bra” exhibit will be on display at the University of South Carolina Beaufort Art Gallery at 801 Carteret Street from January 23 though February 27, 2009. All money raised through this exhibit will go to the Best Chance Network, a statewide program to provide care and treatment for uninsured women who are diagnosed with breast and ovarian cancer.
The USCB Gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday 10 AM – 5 PM. For additional information contact the Beaufort Performing Arts box office at 843-521-4145 or visit BPA’s website at www.beaufortscperformingarts.com.
