The Fiber Artists of Beaufort (FAB) will host a Holiday Sale at the Coastal Art Supply at 216 West Street, Beaufort from December 7 through December 9. Hours will be 12:00 am to 5:00 pm daily with an artists’ reception from 5 to 7 pm on December 7. The member artists will have items for sale that will make excellent Holiday gifts for the fiber lovers in your family.
Participating artists are Eileen Berchem, Laura Burcin, Margo Duke, Barbara James, Sari Kandel, Kim Keats, Laurie Lovell, Linda Patalive and Cynthia Zeiss.
FAB’s members are 15 accomplished Lowcountry artisans whose work represents a broad range of contemporary textile art. One-of-a-kind wall art, as well as wearable and three dimensional pieces for the home, will be available for sale.
The member artists work in a broad range of fiber techniques, including knitting, weaving, nuno and needle felting, natural dyeing, paper making and sculpture, silk painting, hand-spinning of yarn. The artistic results include wall hangings, clothing items, jewelry and hand-stitched embroidered pieces.
Most of the artists have affiliations with galleries in Beaufort and Bluffton as well as exhibiting and teaching across the U.S. and internationally. FAB’s mission is to inspire and motivate its members and to educate the public about contemporary fiber art.
