The Marsh Hatters of Beaufort, SC, a chapter of the international women’s organization, The Red Hat Society, is hosting a luncheon on Saturday, October 23 at The Holiday Inn and Suites in Beaufort. A “Glitz and Gritz” Red Hat Cabaret, with Angela Beasley’s world famous “The Puppet People” of Savannah, GA will be the featured entertainment. This event is open to all Red and Pink Hatters, and all visitors and guests are welcome. Come meet Lady Formica Dinette, in her Red Hat finery, and meet her friends as they join together to entertain the Marsh Hatters and their guests.
Red Hat vendors will open their doors at 11:00 a.m. Registration for the luncheon starts at 12:00 Noon; followed by lunch at 1:00 p.m., with the entertainment beginning at 2:00 p.m. Vendors will be closed during the entertainment portion of the program, but will reopen following “The Puppet People,” and they will remain open until 4:00 pm. A luncheon featuring three salads, fresh fruit, croissant, dessert of choice, and iced tea will be served. A cash bar will be available for those who wish to purchase other beverages.
The Holiday Inn and Suites (843-379-3100) has set aside a block of rooms for those traveling from out of town who wish to stay in the area on Saturday night. In order to receive the special “Glitz and Gritz” rate, reservations must be made no later than October 1, 2010. Those wishing to take advantage of this special room rate for the Friday evening preceding the luncheon need to call Philip Carroway at the Holiday Inn and Suites number to request this special rate.
There will be a Halloween Hat Contest for those interested in decorating their hats for the upcoming season; also included is a 50/50 raffle and a raffle for door prizes. Tickets for the luncheon and entertainment are $35 per person, including all taxes and gratuities.
