On Wednesday, May 28th several restaurants in the Beaufort area will generously donate a portion of their proceeds for that day to the Elly Bachman Snakebite Fund.  We are asking that residents EAT OUT FOR ELLY! at one of these establishments.

Elly was bitten by a copperhead snake on May 28, 2007, and she came home from MUSC 8 days later with 5 severe scars on her leg and foot and $91,000 in out-of-pocket medical bills.  Her family has since applied for and received substantial financial discounts from the medical providers, leaving them with under $12,000 in bills left to pay, and they have received donations already to the Elly Bachman Snakebite Fund.  However, they’re still not able to pay all her bills.
So far, the following establishments have generously agreed to help raise funds for Elly on May 28th:
Old Towne Coffeehaus – 914 Paris Avenue – 10% of proceeds for the day
    Panini’s – 926 Bay Street – a portion of their proceeds
Steamer Oyster & Steakhouse – 168 Sea Island Pkwy – a portion of their proceeds
Moe’s Southwest Grill – Beaufort Town Center, 2015 Boundary Street – a portion of their proceeds
Carolina Wings & Rib House – The Port Royal Center, 1714 Ribaut Road – a portion of their proceeds
