Legion-Pitchers-Tryouts          American Legion Baseball returns to the Lowcountry with both senior and junior Beaufort Osprey teams.  There was no Beaufort American Legion baseball in 2015, for the first empty season in more than 25 years. American Legion Beaufort Post 9 is bringing back Legion Baseball; for their 2016 regular season the senior Ospreys will play 18 games and the junior Ospreys will play 14 games.

Tryouts for both teams were held on Saturday, May 14 with close to 50 teens expressing interest in playing on the rosters of the two Beaufort Osprey teams.

The program includes insurance, uniforms, equipment, umpires, travel expenses and incidentals, all funded by the American Legion Beaufort Post 9 and a modest registration fee for players.  In addition, Post 9 has committed to help fund several facility improvement projects at the Beaufort High School baseball field as its chosen home field.

Come and support our youth; all games are open to the public with free admission for children under 12 and all veterans, $3 for students and only $5 for adults. The concession stand will be open at home games.

Opening home game for the senior team was Thursday, May 26, against Orangeburg.

Opening home game for the junior Ospreys is Thursday, June 2, at Beaufort High School diamond at 6:30 pm, versus Aiken.
