Christmas in November?  Why, of course!  The weekend before Thanksgiving, homes will be decked out in festive attire as St. Peter’s presents the 8th Annual Homes for the Holidays.

This year, five homes in Tuxedo Park on Lady’s Island will be transformed into a festive array of holiday cheer. Christmas trees will be skillfully trimmed, mantles and doors decorated and outdoor landscaping will be adorned with holiday sparkle.

One of the most reserved of all of Beaufort’s neighborhoods, Tuxedo Park is a quiet, elegant community, off Sams Point Road, characterized by estate-sized lots and traditionally designed homes, set amidst acres of parks, a picturesque pond and mature oaks and magnolias.  The grounds of a former private estate,Tuxedo Park was designed to preserve the Lowcountry landscape and resemble the grand old neighborhoods of the early 20th century.  Each home is distinct in design, yet diverse in architecture, while in harmony with each other.  One residence is even the old stables, now converted to a private home.

Through the generosity of these homeowners and professional designer, St. Peter’s Catholic School’s Endowment Fund will again benefit from this fundraising event.  Established in 2002, the endowment fund assists the parish in enrolling students whose potential is limited only by financial resources.  Since its inception, the tour and the opening night Gala have deposited over $200,000 in the educational fund and curriculum development.

Traditional holiday splendor is the theme for the 2009 Homes for the Holidays Gala on Friday night November 20th from 7pm – 11pm in the Walsh Palmetto Room on St. Peter’s Campus.  Guests will arrive at the church campus ready to relax and feel as though they are truly Home for the Holidays.  The entry will be lined with candle glowing lanterns.  A 16 foot Christmas Tree will be placed in the center of the room donned with twinkling white lights, red ornaments and red roses.  There will be butler passed food trays will showcase silent auction items for bidding.
