Nate Skager
The Hilton Head Island Recreation Center is excited to welcome Nate Skager on board as the Outdoor Recreation Director. Skager will oversee Kayak Tours, Boat Charters, Surf Lessons, Paddleboard Tours, Kayak/Paddleboard Rentals, Outdoor Youth, After-School Fishing, and Kayaking Programs.
Skager is a certified Red Cross Lifeguard, former Firefighter and current nationally registered EMT, and has been teaching Surf Lessons on Hilton Head for the Island Rec Center since 2004.
The Outdoor Rec department was formed this year to utilize the Sailing and Rowing Center on Squire Pope Rd. Outdoor Recreation refers to recreational activities that occur in an outdoor setting that are dependent on the natural environment.
It is the mission of Skager and the Outdoor Rec Department to build community and bring families together by expanding recreational opportunities in the natural setting for all ages that are safe, fun, educational, and boost confidence.
