The Fripp Island Friends of Music announce their second concert for the current season, on Sunday, November 18th, 2007 at 5 pm. They will present Georgia’s own world-class and inspirational music group, D’Vine.
D’Vine have performed their sophisticated, richly harmonic sound around the world. The tow sisters and a friend, Paula McGuire Saunders, Pamela McGuire Deas, and Sheryl Denis Pollard sing a cappella and with accompaniment, sharing a gift of music that captures the heart, soul, and spirit.
When the members of D’Vine formed their trio thirteen years ago, they had no idea they would beat the odds in more than one way. Unthinkable is the fact that a group can remain together for this many years, performing 150 concerts annually in addition to maintaining full-time jobs. Unbelievable is the fact that they have shared their voices with standing room only audiences during repeat tours in South America, Europe and Mexico. These three ladies have performed at the White House, and during the 1996 Opening Ceremony of the Olympics, and with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
Top Georgia officials have secured their talents for numerous overseas trade missions with the Governor and CEOs of major corporations such as Coca-Cola Company, Home Depot, and Bell South. They have inspired thousands with their heart-warming rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner at schools nationwide, at Madison Square Garden, The Staples Center in Los Angeles, and at Atlanta Braves, Falcons, and Hawks games.
Three women… three voices… one mission. To inspire.
The concert will take place at the Fripp Island Community Center, and will be followed by a wine and cheese reception to meet the artists. The cost of admission is $20 for non-members, $10 for students. For more information, call 838-4666.
