Beaufort Performing Arts is happy to present The Claremont Trio On Sunday, November 18 at 7 pm. The trio, comprised of pianist Donna Kwong and twin sisters, violinist Emily Bruskin and cellist Julia Bruskin, is yet another example of chamber groups formed by attractive young women who are not only an absolute joy to hear but thrilling to watch as well.
The twin sisters Emily Bruskin and Julia Brukin formed the trio with Donna Kwong in 1999 at The Julliard School. After winning the 2001 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, the Claremont Trio launched their touring career with an acclaimed New York debut at 92nd Street Y.
At Sunday’s performance The Claremont Trio will perform Schumann’s Piano Trio in D Minor, Op 63, Frank Martin’s Piano Trio on Irish Folk Tunes and Beethoven’s Piano Trio in B-flat Major, op. 97.
Highlights of previous seasons include performances at the American Academy in Rome, Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall and Alice Tully Hall, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Merkin concert Hall, the Irving S. Gilmore International Keyboard Festival in Kalamazoo, MI, and with the chamber music societies of Cincinnati, Detroit, Utica, Kansas City, Louisville, Buffalo, and Sedona. During recent summers the Claremont Trio has appeared at Mostly Mozart, Caramoor, Ravinia,, Cape Cod Chamber Music , Great Lakes Festivals and many more. The Claremont Trio’s CD of Mendelssohn trios was released in 2004 to enthusiastic critical acclaim. They have been featured on television and radio stations throughout the U.S. and abroad.
