The Lowcountry Chorale, a mixed-voice community of singers, has begun preparation for its upcoming season. The Chorale has been singing as a group since the spring of 1997, with continuous performances twice a year, until 2020 when Covid struck. They are really in need of tenor and baritone voices, but they welcome all voice parts. NO AUDITION NECESSARY – just a love of singing!
Rehearsals begin at 6 pm Tuesday, September 7, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 157 Lady’s Island Drive, Beaufort. Twelve weeks of rehearsals will culminate in a performance on Tuesday, November 30th. We have shortened the rehearsal and performance season due to Covid precautions. St John’s is practicing proper sanitizing procedures, and while masks and social distancing are not required, personal choices will be respected. This situation is in flux, and changes may be implemented if needed.
We are privileged to be led by our new Music Director Josh Wall, a well-known local Choral Director and high school music teacher. We will sing a variety of hymns, season music and Holiday songs.
Please note: First rehearsal will start at 5:30 pm for registration, and there is a $50 membership fee to help defray music and performance costs.
