The Harriet Tubman Monument Fund will host award-winning historian Dr. Elizabeth Cobbs for a book talk and signing at the 156-year-old historic Tabernacle Baptist Church in Beaufort, SC on Saturday, May 18th at 3:00pm.
The Tubman Command,by Dr. Elizabeth Cobbs, brings Harriet Tubman to life. The novel is set in the historic Beaufort, and is based on Tubman’s role in the June 1863 Combahee River Raid that freed over 700 enslaved persons. Some historians believe the freed slaves assembled at Tabernacle after the raid, which makes it much more exciting that the book talk and signing are being hosted at the church. Cobbs, author of bestselling The Hamilton Affair, has taken yet another iconic figure from American history and crafted a story rich in emotional depth and astonishing realism.
You are invited to join author Elizabeth Cobbs on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 3:00pm at the Tabernacle Baptist Church located at 907 Craven Street in Beaufort, SC. A book signing will follow the reading. Please reserve a free ticket for this event through Eventbrite at http://bit.ly/TheTubmanCommand.
