The Society of Bluffton Artists (SOBA) invites the community to celebrate the region’s artistic talent during the Reception & Awards Ceremony for its 32nd Annual Judged Show from 4-6 p.m. Sept. 2 at the SOBA Gallery, 7 Church Street in Old Town Bluffton.

The free event offers the public an opportunity to meet participating artists, view award-winning artwork, and celebrate one of the Lowcountry’s premier visual arts exhibitions. Awards will be presented to outstanding artists across seven categories, including the coveted Best in Show honor.

The 32nd Annual Judged Show features original artwork submitted by artists from throughout the Lowcountry and beyond. The professionally judged exhibition showcases a diverse collection of paintings, drawings, photography, digital art, mixed media, and three-dimensional works.

The exhibition will remain on display Sept. 1 through Oct. 4, giving visitors more than a month to experience the juried collection. All artwork will be available for purchase, with proceeds supporting SOBA’s mission to promote and nurture the visual arts through exhibitions, education, scholarships, and community outreach.

As one of SOBA’s largest annual fundraisers, the Judged Show also supports the organization’s Capital Campaign, “A Forever Home for SOBA,” helping secure a permanent future for the arts in Bluffton.

Founded in 1991, SOBA has served as a cornerstone of Bluffton’s arts community, providing exhibitions, art classes, workshops, and outreach opportunities for artists and art enthusiasts throughout the Lowcountry. Since becoming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2004, SOBA has continued expanding access to the visual arts while fostering creativity and artistic collaboration.

The Reception & Awards Ceremony is free and open to the public.
