Jordan says of his featured work, “Her Sunday Finest is a pencil and watercolor painting of an elderly Black woman wearing her lovely, stylish Sunday-best hat which she dons weekly. The iconic woman worked hard for over 45 years in New Orleans. Taking in wash that she laundered in her bathtub, she saved most of her income and donated $250,000 to Howard University’s scholarship fund. A grand Southern lady!” Jordan has a BFA, MA, and MFA in Painting and Print-making. His career includes working as an artist in the creative epicenter of SoHo in the early 70’s, teaching Modern Art at a college level and later while a Design Director at Hallmark created their successful Mahogany card line.
Each of the exhibiting artists is paired with a floral designer who interprets the spirit and emotional content of the painting in a bouquet or arrangement of flowers. The original artistic floral piece compliments the artist’s medium with the elements of nature. All artwork and floral designs are available for purchase. Ted Jordan’s floral designer is Elisa Ranney, who has created arrangements for him before.
