On December 1, 2007, The Red Piano Too Art Gallery is hosting a live Art Auction to benefit The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). This benefit auction is a part of: A Lowcountry Christmas Celebration on Da’ Sea Islands of Historic Beaufort, South Carolina.
As October sprints toward a finish with its usual flourish, the Beaufort Art Association Gallery, located at 1001 Bay Street in downtown Beaufort, is offering a number of colorful events to suit a variety of tastes. The annual “Holiday Boutique” is coming in time to join the final week of “Hetty’s World”—an exhibition of paintings by featured artist Hetty Nijman. BAA members have created unique, artful gifts specifically for the boutique and will offer them for sale beginning October 24.
It's 7:17PM on Saturday, October 13. The pink-orange sunset sky over the marshes is darkening and a golden crecent moon is ascendant in the eastern sky. These are the days of wonder in the Lowcountry. Fresh breezes, seventy degree highs, blue skies and little puffer clouds; the whirring engine of a small plane as it leaves the unique Frogmore Intranational Airport; smiling faces (just like our license tags say) and mine, all the more content because of the last five hours spent at the Arts Council of Beaufort's "Chalk On The Walk" celebration on the green field in the middle of what is fast becoming Beaufort Town Center on Boundary Street.
