    I’m not sure how I’m supposed to feel.    I suppose it really didn’t hit me that hard until I walked in one day and the pianos were gone. I never realized just how large — and how empty — that front room was without those two beautiful old grand pianos set just so.

        “I was so much older then, I’m younger than that now.”        These days, I find myself not wanting to sum up parts of my life in the doggerel of ’60s folk rock. Yet sitting in an ancient blue shoe box sits a packet of letters, cards, notes from years I tend to relegate, like the box itself, to some corner shelf of the closet of my mind.

Just Words?

    I was at Pigeon Point Park the other day, watching my five-year-old spinning away on the merry-go-round ad nauseam (my nauseam, not hers) and chatting with a woman I’d just met, another mom who happens to be a teacher at a local elementary school. We were discussing the recent reopening of Waterfront Park, specifically wondering when the playground might be ready for business. We both agreed that the new park was looking good; then my companion added, “I hope it don’t get tore up again, or nothin’.”
