The new Hilton Head Comedy Club has rolled back its fall/winter season hours as part of its ongoing mission to bring exclusive top-quality comedy to the Lowcountry.
The intimate, candle lighted venue at 430 Wm Hilton Pkwy. now hosts shows at 8 p.m. Tues.-Thurs. and 8 and 10 p.m. Fri.-Sat. and has booked another series of top touring headliners through September and into the first week of October.
Kenny Rogerson, described by many comedy fans as “The Funniest Man You’ve Never Heard Of,” moves into the club for a Sept. 23-27 engagement followed by a series of Sept. 30-Oct. 4 appearances featuring veteran funnyman Dennis Blair.
Rogerson’s extensive stand-up credits chart a career that currently finds him headlining major comedy venues across the country. Rogerson, who also writes and acts in addition to his formidable stage show, has appeared on numerous televison shows including “The Late Show with David Letterman” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.” He’s simply one of the best in a notoriouly competitive busiess.
Blair is a former protege of Rodney Dangerfield who toured with the legendary comic in addition to co-writing the film, “Easy Money.” Blair appeared in a pair of specials with Dangerfield and also penned the hit novelty tune, “Rappin’ Rodney.” He’s appeared on HBO and “The Tonight Show” several times and recently was the long-time opening act for late comedian George Carlin, appearing in concert halls and showrooms across the country.{mosimage}
Hilton Head Comedy Club features a full bar and select menu. Admission is $10 per person weekdays and $12 weekends for those 18 years and older.
