Jean Heyduck, Executive Director of LVL, sums up the agency’s impact: “This year, Literacy Volunteers of the Lowcountry is celebrating 40 years of offering literacy instruction to Beaufort County adults. In these 40 years, we estimate we’ve helped more than 9,000 adults become more successful and more self-reliant at home, at work and in our community. We couldn’t serve this many people without the dedication and commitment of over 200 volunteers and the support of the community. Literacy changes lives and Literacy Volunteers of the Lowcountry is changing lives every day.”
