On Friday, June 11th, the 2021 KBRS Hard Core Cobia Tournament was held at The Skull Creek Boathouse. More than 100 anglers participated in the inaugural event, which kicked off bright and early at 8am.
The private event required each team to make a donation to enter. Teams consisted of a captain and four guests to a boat. In addition to organizing the tournament, KBRS made a stand-alone donation of $1500 and sponsored a lavish after party at the Skull Creek Boathouse which boasted a sumptuous buffet and open bar. Other sponsors included Black Dog Marine, The Boathouse, and Joe’s Classic Cuts.
The exciting event raised more than $7000 for the Hilton Head Area Home Builders Education Foundation. This year marks the 29th year the Hilton Head Area Home Builders Education Foundation has been awarding scholarships to graduating seniors from Beaufort, Jasper, and Hampton counties. Education Foundation scholarships are awarded to applicants who plan to attend a 4 or 2-year accredited trade/tech school; and are selected based on a combination of solid academic work ethic, financial need, community service and character.
“It was a great day, and we were happy to come out and raise money to support trade and technical education.” said Tony Sferlazzo, Director of Manufacturing for KBRS.
