Beware of Zontions

They are after your money! The Zonta Club of Beaufort, member of Zonta International which is celebrating its Centennial this year, has taken on the “Campaign of the Century.’  They are working to raise money to sponsor a service dog for a Woman Marine Veteran thru K9s for Warriors,  an organization which specializes in working with Vets with PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury and Military Sexual Trauma.  Being a women’s service organization, this was the deciding factor in selecting this group over others.

The final concert of USCB Chamber Music’s 39th season takes place on Sunday, April 14, 5:00pm. It will be a riotous affair with music of salt and sea, meditation, brilliant virtuosity, sparkling colors, and one of the great crossover works of the 20th century.

HHSO Hosts The Blakemore Trio

A fundraiser for the newly formed Hilton Head Chamber Music Institute entitled “The Blakemore Trio” will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2019 at 7:30 pm to benefit student scholarships for the new program.  The Blakemore Trio comprised of Carolyn Huebel, violin, Felix Wang, cello, and Amy Dorfman, piano, will perform Haydn, Schoenberg and Rachmaninov at HHSO SoundWaves.

Catch the Wellness Wave on the USCB Campus

The excitement is building as a new and unique festival is being rolled out in Beaufort –The Wellness Wave and Scavenger Hunt! Wellness Wave is a collaboration of USCB partnering with its neighbors, Beaufort Chiropractic, Free Spirit Yoga, Sanctuary Acupuncture, and Alchemical Healing. Motivated to bring more fun, wellness, and sense of community to our college students and to the Beaufort community, the collaborators will be turning the USCB campus into a hub of festivities, games and treats.

Tales of Sheriff’s Department and Coroner’s Office

Beaufort History Museum, in partnership with the Beaufort Branch of Beaufort County Library, will present a lecture titled “History and Tales of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Department and Coroner’s Office.”  The lecture is scheduled for 2 pm Tuesday, April 9, at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall located at the corner of North and Church Streets in Beaufort. Speakers will be Ed Allen, Beaufort County Coroner and Lieutenant Colonel Neil Baxley, Emergency Management Director of the Beaufort County Sherriff’s Office.

Camp Conroy 2019: Build a Book 

The Pat Conroy Literary Center’s second annual Camp Conroy: Build a Book is a two-week summer camp to be held June 17-28, Monday-Friday, 8 am – 4 pm Presented in partnership with Beaufort Middle School, the program will provide campers, age 8-15, with a hands-on program of book building from start to finish.
