Art League welcomes back Charleston favorite Peggy Ellis for watercolor workshop
The Art League Academy is thrilled to announce an engaging and immersive watercolor workshop titled “Watercolor Made Easy,” led by the esteemed artist and instructor Peggy Ellis. This three-day event will take place from Friday, October 10, to Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM at the Art League Academy, located at 106 Cordillo Parkway, Hilton Head Island, SC.
Workshop Overview
This workshop is designed to ignite participants’ creative passions, offering a comprehensive exploration into the art of watercolor. Suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced artists, the workshop provides a unique opportunity to experiment with this versatile medium. Participants will gain hands-on experience using watercolor templates and enjoy the process of creating a finished painting to take home.
About the Instructor
Peggy Ellis, a distinguished artist based in Charleston, SC, will lead the sessions. Known for her vibrant
paintings that capture the essence of the Lowcountry landscape, Ellis brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to her teaching. The daughter of Lowcountry artist Ray Ellis, her work is widely respected and collected nationwide, with representation by Reinert Fine Art in Charleston. Ellis has received glowing testimonials from past students, highlighting her ability to inspire and encourage artists at all levels. Marilynn G. praises her as a “knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and very encouraging instructor.” Dylan Sell, Former Arts Coordinator at Palmetto Bluff Conservancy, describes her as “a positive force in the workshop” and highly recommends her classes for both beginners and seasoned artists.
Registration and Materials
Participants are encouraged to register early, as class sizes are limited to ensure personalized instruction. Materials kits are available upon request, with an estimated cost between $100 and $130.
