Penn Center is hosting two amazing singer-songwriters in one evening of entertainment! Lowcountry jazz singer Jan Spencer captivates audiences as she sings with effortless ease.

A fan describes her as “a gifted, gorgeous anti-diva, whose musical style is some combinations of Bill Withers, Roberta Flack, Cassandra Wilson, Brenda Russell, Carly Simon and Jill Scott… smooth, jazzy and just a bit sassy… especially when she sings the blues.”

Rebecca Folsom comes from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, and now lives part-time in Nashville, TN. Her smooth, sweet voice can take you floated through a story-teller’s folk song, then knock you to your knees with her rock and blues. Westward Magazine says, “Her songs hit like little earthquakes and she shares the vocal prowess of Susan Tedeschi.” A touring artist who has performed internationally on BBC radio and TV, Rebecca’s songs beg to be heard over and over again.
The concert at Penn Center begins at 7:30 pm, and will benefit Marshview Community Organic Farm, a non-profit project that engages young people in our community in positive, educational, and life-affirming ways. The farm’s mission is the use environmentally safe practices to promote community sustainable agriculture.
Tickets are $15, $12 for students. For more information, call 521-4483.
