Each spring, members of the Photography Club of Beaufort submit their best photos for competition among their peers. This spring, the club is still meeting virtually so judges could be selected from around the world as long as they were available to ZOOM on the night of the competition. The Spring 2021 judges were: Rick Rhodes, a commercial photographer from Charleston, SC; Don Wouri, a nature photographer from Columbia, SC; and Joanne Stolte, a landscape and nature photographer from Southern California.
Winners this spring were:
Novice: 1st place: Pam Keith for “Ruffled Feathers”
Intermediate: 1st Place: Ruth McCully for “Autumn Sunset in the Smokies” (seen here) and 2nd Place to Jack Beaucaire for “Widgeon Point”
Advanced: 1st Place: (Tie) Sophia Schade for “It Tastes Like Chicken” and Private Thoughts by Rich Matheny (both seen here) and 2nd Place to Juergen Thiessen for “Autumn Reflection”
The Expert 1st Place winners (tie) were Joan Eckhardt for “Feather Afloat” and Paul Nurnberg for “Blue Eyes”
The club will continue to meet virtually the 2nd Monday of every month at 7pm. through Fall 2021 when hopefully life will begin to return to normalcy. www.beaufortphotoclub.com
