Hilton Head artist Kristin Griffis is showcasing her artwork in Music Makes the World Go ‘Round, an exhibit at Art League Gallery. Her fun and whimsical paintings feature bold colors and are inspired by music. Griffis is gifted with a form of synesthesia, an ability to see colors when hearing sounds. “I paint music. That is what inspires me. Sometimes, I paint a play on a song title, or how a song makes me feel, or how musicians look when they create their magic. Music touches all of us in some way and connects us. Music makes the world go ‘round.”
Griffis is a self-taught, life-long painter unafraid to experiment. Her artwork hangs in the private collections of musicians and music lovers, and has graced the packaging for Immaculate Baking products (General Mills) and the cover of Martin Lesch’s jazz CD Journey Through Jazz. She will be holding multiple demonstrations throughout the exhibit to showcase her style and technique.
