Robert Sefton brings South Carolina’s wonderful coastal environment to life with High on the Lowcountry, an exhibit at the Art League of Hilton Head Gallery from July 26 – August 20. The opening reception is Wednesday, July 27th from 5-7 pm. PM.

Sefton formed an appreciation for art early on by taking college level art classes while still in high school. When he started college, the popular art style at the time did not suit him, so instead he studied chemistry. After graduation from University of Pittsburg, Sefton worked in the paint, pigment and industrial color industry.
Now a retired resident of the Lowcountry, Sefton is primarily focused on painting in oil. Having worked with pigment technology and commercial color, Sefton’s artwork comes from his unique perspective. Hoping to capture a certain feeling with each piece, Sefton’s exhibition will represent his view of all the Lowcountry’s coast has to offer.
