‘Finish Line’ by Aline Ordman
The Art League Academy is pleased to announce the return of award-winning artist and instructor Aline Ordman this fall for a three-day workshop, “Finding Your Focus in Oils or Pastels.” The workshop will take place from Tuesday, November 4 through Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 9:30am to 4pm each day at Art League Academy, located at 106 Cordillo Pkwy, Hilton Head Island, SC.
“Aline Ordman’s workshop will guide students through the essential elements of successful painting, including color, value, technique, and achieving a clear focus. Participants will work from their own photo references, transforming them into oil or pastel paintings while exploring principles of color, value, and design,” says Amy Wehrman-Jones, Academy Manager. “Each day will feature a painting demonstration, with Aline discussing color in terms of temperature, intensity, and value, and demonstrating pastel and oil techniques. The workshop will also emphasize the creation and refinement of shapes to achieve a painterly finish.”
Aline Ordman holds a BFA from Cornell University and a degree in Illustration from the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. She is a Master Pastelist with the Pastel Society of America, a Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society, a Signature Member of the Oil Painters of America, and a Master Circle Pastelist with the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS). Her work has been recognized in numerous national juried shows and publications, and she has served as a juror for several prestigious competitions.
Aline’s teaching approach encourages artists to see beauty in unexpected places and to translate that vision into their artwork. She is represented by galleries in Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, and Michigan, and teaches workshops throughout the United States and Europe.
