The gallery of Beaufort Performing Arts at USCB is pleased to present An Occasion for Jewelry, an exhibit of one-of-a kind jewelry pieces designed by Susan Palmer, “The Bead Lady.” The opening will be Sunday, November 18 from 5 – 7 pm. Palmer’s unfettered imagination and her eye for color and balance has made her work alluring and unique. Each of her one-of-a kind pieces has its own story and history. Palmer’s passion for the art of jewelry can be experienced in every one of her designs. She has been creating jewelry for almost 30 years and draws her inspiration from an eclectic assortment of Peruvian pre-colonial, Columbian and Mexican as well as antique exotic pieces collected from around the world. Many of her individual beads and pieces have been appraised by the Smithsonian Museum.
She has a loyal following has been featured in U.S. as well as foreign publications. She also redesigns existing necklaces and accepts individual customer requests. Her work can also be viewed at: The Beaufort Art Gallery and Antiques Store in the Elliot House on Bay St and at Divine Shoes on Scott St both in Beaufort.
Palmer makes her home in Beaufort, SC with her husband Pete after traveling more than 35 years throughout the Americas with the U.S. Diplomatic Corps.
An Occasion for Jewelry will be on display at the gallery of BPA/USCB from November 18 through Friday, December 15.
