perspectives to join in honest, hopeful dialogue about the roots and realities of racism, why justice and reconciliation matter to us all, biblical and ethical foundations for action, and how faith communities and allies can lead the way.
The purpose of this ecumenical group is to raise awareness of the issues and challenges of racism and inequity through educational events, involvement in community programs, and respectful dialogue. Guided by scripture, the goal of Bridge Builders is to address racism in its many forms – both personally and systemically. The lecture series, named after one of its founding members, the late Dr. Julius S. Scott, Jr., a lifelong educator and civil rights advocate, is one way the group offers community-wide seminars and conferences.
